Day 1 - AIRPORT – COLOMBO

Day 2 - COLOMBO – PINNAWELA – SIGIRIYA

Pinnawala elephant orphanage
  • Leave hotel after breakfast and proceed to Dambulla.
  • En-route visit Pinnawela elephant orphanage.

    The orphanage was established to feed, nurse and house young elephants abandoned by their mothers and displaced from their natural environment due to development projects. Most orphans cannot be introduced back to the wild as other elephant family groups will not accept them. They enjoy a good life with their human parents and many find good foster homes in zoos around the world. If you could reach the orphanage by 09.15 hrs you will be in time to see the baby elephants being bottle-fed. At 10.00 hrs the entire herd is taken to the river for a bath.

  • Climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

    Sigiriya Rock Fortress is one of the most important archeological sites, dating from pre-historic a massive rock in the green scrub jungle is perhaps the most memorable place for visitors to Sri lanka. The site was known from ancient times as a heritage for Buddhist monks. A well planned monastic complex includes caved temples,bathing pools,lovely ponds and Asia’s oldest surviving landscaped gardens. Today Sigiriya is famous for its frescos painted in the pocket of the rock. The “lion stairway” the Mirror Wall and the “Water Gardens” are the other highlights of Sigiriya.

Day 3 - SIGIRIYA – POLONNARUWA

    The mediaeval capital of Srilanka, and today it is one of the most beautiful centers of our cultural heritage. With its comparatively brief history and a dozen rulers, it is a far more completely preserved ruin city than Anuradhapura.

  • Visit the ancient ruins and the Gal Vihara Complex, where three very large Buddha statues are carved out of a single rock.
  • Finally you will see the New Museum where you will find all above places displayed with modules.

Day 4 - POLONNARUWA – DAMBULLA - KANDY

  • After breakfast leave for kandy. En-route visit Dambulla cave Temple.

    A 1st century BC Rock Caved Temple, which contains the most outstanding collection of Buddha images in Sri lanka. The Walls are covered with paintings depicting images of Lord Buddha’s different reincarnations as well as historic episodes.

  • En-route visit at a spice garden at Mathale and a Batik Factory where the ancient process of making batik by using wax as the main component could be seen.
  • Journey continues to Kandy.

    A beautiful city in the citadel of country. It is not only known for it’s great who ruled the city for almost 226 years independently until the British took over in 1815 , but it is also the place where the sacred Tooth of lord Buddha is laid in a magnificent temple. The incomparable Perahera celebration, a procession of more than 100 elephants, is held during the month of August every year.

  • Check-in at kandy Hotel.
  • Evening You will be taken to the center of the city where an artificial lake 4 kms in circumference and surround by a balustrade of grey stone. The upper lake drive takes you a vintage point for a panoramic view of the entire city of Kandy.
  • 17.30 hrs witness the Kandyandance performance including fire-walking
  • Visit the”Dalada Maligawa” where the Sacred Tooth Relic is placed and preserved is undoubtedly the greatest attraction of the city. It is one of the most sacred places for Buddhists all over the world.
  • 19.00 hrs witness the Pooja ceremonies (rituals ) This is a daily religious observation of the Maligawa, a tradition that had been followed for generations to invoke blessings on its people.
  • Lastly you will visit the “Rajawasala” – The Royal Palace complex where the council Chamber known as the “Magul Maduwa” is seen, this is a unique wooden pillared all dating back to 1784 and the Devale complexes are housed inside.
  • Dinner and over night stay at Kandy.

Day 5 - KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA

  • After Breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya.

    Which means the “city of lights” is also known as the city of eternal spring, where the air is pure, cool and distilled up through 1,884 meters. A journey through narrow passes. Beside deep ravines and over gushing, streams to the hill country of Srilanka is a very enjoyable one.

  • En-route visit a Tea Factory. See the process of tea being manufactured and buy ‘Unblended’ high grown tea here.

Day 6 - NUWARA ELIYA – TISSAMAHARAMA

  • Around 15:00 hrs leave for a jeep safari of the Yala National Park

    378 sq miles in extent and is most famous and well-developed national park in the Island.You could observe Elephants in herds of varying, sizes, leopards, wild boar, Wild buffalo, crocodiles, peococks, jackal, sloth bear and other animals.

    The bird life comprise 130 species including the resident and migrant birds. Painted stokes, Serpent Eagle, Sea Eagle and Pelicans add color to the bird life in the park.

Day 7 - TISSAMAHARAMAYA - THANGALLA

  • Afternoon visit Galle which is a living "world heritage site" and capital of Srilanka during the Dutch period.

    The walled city has stood since the early Sixteenth century, through the colonial period of the Portuguese(1587 AD) Dutch (1640 AD) & Britch(1796 AD) and in our present times is Proclaimed as an archaeological reserve.

    Galle is also famous for lace making, ebony carving, gem cutting and polishing.
